My name is Christopher Sangiacomo, and I have stage 4 prostate cancer. I was diagnosed 3 years ago after I went to the emergency room due to vomiting blood for 3 hours. The vomiting was caused by a tumor on my prostate that was blocking the flow of urine from my bladder. To provide catheter comfort, the emergency room nurse inserted a catheter, which helped alleviate some of the discomfort. Since my diagnosis, I've sought prostate cancer support to navigate this challenging journey.
At Catheter Comfort, our mission is to provide you with catheter comfort and effective catheter pain relief while you navigate life with a catheter. We are also committed to offering prostate cancer support to those in need.
Hello,
My name is Christopher Sangiacomo, and I have stage 4 prostate cancer.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago after I went to the emergency room due to vomiting blood for 3 hours.
The reason I was vomiting was that the tumor on my prostate was blocking the flow of urine from my bladder.
In the emergency room, the nurse inserted a catheter so I could drain my bladder, and that catheter remained in place for 5 months.
If you've ever had a catheter, you understand how painful it is to move around. Most of the discomfort I felt came from the constant pulling on the tube with every movement of the leg to which the stat-lock was glued.
Even the slightest shift while sleeping was excruciating.
After a month of cleaning dried blood from the catheter tube after a long day of work and walking around, I thought, “This is the best we can do? We put a man on the moon, but this hose glued to my leg is the best answer.” Yes, I have a twisted sense of humor.
So, I visited a hobby shop and created a device that changed my life.
This invention alleviated the discomfort caused by the catheter and allowed me to play golf again.
If you or someone you know is dealing with a catheter and is seeking catheter comfort or catheter pain relief, please reach out to me.
Hopefully, you or the person you know won’t have to endure a catheter for 5 months like I did. Unfortunately, some people aren't as fortunate, and a long-term catheter is the only solution.
This device can help improve their quality of life and provide a less painful experience every day.
